Welcome to the HSC BRAIN, LEARNING AND APPLICATIONS INSTITUTE

Three colleagues from HSC attended the Greenleaf Brain Institutes in Connecticut and Albuquerque last summer and were so impressed we decided that a Canadian venue would be advantageous. We are very pleased that Bob Greenleaf shared our thinking and was keen to expand the opportunities – hence the 2009 Brain Institute at Hillfield Strathallan College in Hamilton, Canada.

The Benefits
As we make the shift from the focus on teaching to learning, it becomes all the more important for teachers and educational professionals to understand the functioning of the learner. The HSC Brain Institute will provide information, ideas and interactive learning opportunities to help participants build best practices based on the most recent findings of neuroscience. Well-known experts from Canada and the USA will share their research and offer perspectives that are relevant to the 21st century educational context.

The programs will offer a balance between theory and application with practical classroom strategies, discussion, sharing of expertise., exchange of ideas and networking.
