Our Admissions Office handles the application process and will guide and assist you with the various forms and information required. Interested applicants are provided with a complete information package outlining the enrolment process, conditions, fees and financial aid programs available. It is recommended that families begin the application process early in the school year.

General Application Information

The application process requires you to submit an application form together with an application fee. School reports for the current school year and the final report from the previous year are also required.

For Grades 5 through 11 the candidates must write our Entrance Tests and spend a day with us where they will follow a regular class schedule and have an interview with the Head of School or other staff member. There are math and English components to the tests. Regular entrance tests for Grades 5 -11 and Scholarship Entrance Tests will take place on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 8:30 a.m.

For the Junior and Montessori Schools a date will be set for candidates to visit the school and meet with a teacher. Parents of Junior and Montessori candidates will have an interview with the Principal.

Children entering Junior School (JK - Grade 4) will be invited to attend an assessment time in a classroom setting, perhaps with a small number of other applicants for the same grade.

Montessori applicants will be invited to visit the Montessori School on a regular school day at which time they will be observed in the classroom setting.

How to apply to Hillfield Strathallan College

  1. Complete the Application Form and Student Questionnaire (only for Grade 5 to 11 candidates).  
  2. Attach the $150.00 non-refundable application fee. 
  3. Complete credit information form.
  4. Submit photocopies of your child's previous year and current year report cards (including teacher comments).
  5. Provide the Confidential School Report Form to your child's current school.
  6. Schedule a tour, if you have not already done so.

Application, Registration, and Re-enrolment Fees

A non-refundable application fee of $150 is required with the submission of an application for admission. When your child is offered a place at HSC, we will also send you an enrolment package. To secure the place, you must complete and return the enrolment form, the contractual agreement, and include payment for a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $1,500 for full-day students, and $750 for half-day students (see Note below for half-day students).

We use a re-enrolment process to predict accurately class sizes and teaching resources for the following year. For current students, we require a re-enrolment form and deposit to hold a place for the next academic year for each student. All re-enrolment deposits are part of the full tuition fee for the year, and are applied to the June statements. The forms are sent out in late January and are due back by mid-February, with the re-enrolment deposit of $1,000 per student. The re-enrolment fee deposits can be made in a variety of ways.

Note: For half-day students moving to full-day status, we require a re-enrolment form, the re-enrolment deposit, and $750 as the remaining portion of the registration fee for full-day students.
