Editor and Publisher John Parry '66
John Parry has been busy for the last 3 decades copyediting manuscripts. Recently John created Words Indeed Publishing Inc, and has published his first book, The Well-Tempered Listener: Growing Up with Musical Parents. The volume is a memoir by Mary Willan Mason, daughter of the distinguished composer Healey Willan and his musician-wife Nell. Old Boys may remember Mary’s son, John Healey Mason, who graduated in 1961.
There will be a book launch and 90th-birthday celebration for the author at the Heliconian Club, 35 Hazelton Avenue (in Yorkville), Toronto, on Wednesday 16 June from 5 to 7 p.m. John extends an invitation to the entire HSC community and shares, “Alumni of my generation may know Mary and will certainly remember her son, John Healey Mason, who graduated in 1961.”
Jean Stilwell will interview Mary about her book on radio station Classical 96.3 FM on Monday 31 May at about 8.15 a.m.

Alumni Association Update from Alumni President, Liane Ormond '78
As the school year is winding to a close, I am pleased to report that HSC and the Alumni Association have had another great year.
We began the year with the presentation of the Alumni Award of Distinction to Mr. Ron Bremner, and followed with the Reunion Dinner, participation in the Remembrance Day services, hosting of the reception after the Carol Service, and most recently, the Toronto Alumni Event at the Rosedale Golf Club.
Spring is another busy time with our pinnacle event being the Alumni Golf Classic, which will be held on June 22nd, 2010 at Dundas Valley Golf Club. This year is shaping up to be another successful event and if you have not already signed up to golf, please do so. If you would rather be involved as a volunteer, please don’t hesitate to contact Sheriann Heath-Johnston at the Alumni Office.
We are currently filling the positions for the 2010-2011 Alumni Association Executive. If you would like more information on joining the Association, we encourage you to contact us! There are only four meetings a year, with a lot of fun and connection with the College. As you may be aware, this is a particularly exciting time with Transformation HSC about to unfold. We invite you to stay in touch and keep us up-to-date. Your involvement in the Alumni Association and its activities is welcomed and encouraged.

Another Alumni/Staff/Parent Musical!!!
Mark your calendars! HSC’s next Alumni/ Staff/ Parent musical – ANYTHING GOES – will hit the stage on January 27th, 28th and 29th, 2011.
It’s been four years since members of the HSC community sang and danced their way through Crazy for You -- and we’ve been waiting ever since for another opportunity to have SO MUCH FUN ! So, whether you fancy yourself as a sexy evangelist turned nightclub singer, an English lord with a past or a hapless gangster (or perhaps part of an energetic chorus of sailors or trans-Atlantic passengers) …. or if you would enjoy contributing to the vital work backstage, in costumes, makeup or lighting … please consider joining us.
Auditions will take place On Tuesday, September 14th and Thursday, September 16th , with weekly Tuesday/Thursday rehearsals following. In addition, participants should be willing to commit to weekend rehearsals throughout the month of January.
