September 17, 2010 Award of Distinction Event
Alumni Excellence: Honouring Mr. Bob Young '72

HSC is proud to announce that the 2010-2011 Alumni Award of Distinction Recipient is Mr. Robert Young ’72  

Robert ‘Bob’ Young is an entrepreneur most known for co-founding Red Hat, the open source software company that gives hardware and software vendors a standard platform on which to certify their technology. In 2003 Bob Young purchased the Hamilton Ti-Cats, much to the excitement of Hamilton Fans.  Bob is the founder and CEO of Lulu.com, an innovative, international marketplace for new digital content on the Internet. 

Mr. Young will be honoured on Friday, September 17, 2010 as he participates in the HSC Prefect Installation.  He will address the Senior School as a leader who will inspire our next generation.  Alumni, please click here for your invitation. Green Plan Framework for a Sustainable Future

In 2009, Hillfield Strathallan College began work to develop a comprehensive Green Plan to align all aspects of its operations with the broadly-held ideals of environmental stewardship, responsibility and sustainability. Working with Stephanie Foster from Fostering Sustainability, the Green School Steering Committee has developed a Green Plan Framework to provide the foundation upon which the soon-to-be established HSC Green Team will continue to build and develop our own detailed plan.
