The HSC Alumni Award of Distinction Program celebrates the achievements of Alumni in our community who have lived the aspirations of the Hillfield Strathallan College Vision and developed into global citizens who have in effect bettered the world around them.
The Criteria:
- The story of this person and his/her accomplishments would be an inspiration to HSC students of today.
- This individual has clearly excelled and demonstrated an ability to reach his or her full potential.
- This individual is seen by others to demonstrate excellence--whether it is in the area of artistic, intellectual, physical or humanitarian excellence.
- This individual has made a commitment and a significant contribution to "better the world around him/her" - in the HSC community, his/her community of residence or in the national or global community.
Who can be nominated?
Any former student of HSC who completed a minimum of one academic year with the school is defined as an HSC Alumnus, and therefore is eligible to be nominated for this honour.
Unfortunately we will not be able to present in absentia. However, in recognition of the many Alumni who deserve to be recognized posthumously, we invite nominations for a future recognition program.
What is the process?
A selection committee representing a cross-section of Alumni, Current Academics, Former Academics and Community Leaders will review all nominations and be responsible for the task of selecting an annual winner.
The Honour
The Alumni Award of Distinction winner will attend a celebration in his or her honour at the invitation of the Alumni Association and School. He or she will be asked to share wisdom and insight into his/her accomplishments as a Keynote Speaker and participate in the Prefect Installation ceremony, inspiring the next generation of leaders. An annual graduation scholarship sponsored by the HSC Alumni Association will be named for the recipient of the Award of Distinction and presented to a graduate to aid in higher learning endeavours.
