Hillfield Strathallan College is pleased to announce the appointment of Maryann Kerr to the role of Director of College Advancement. Ms. Kerr has worked in the philanthropic sector for more than 27 years in executive leadership and senior development positions for a number of multi-faceted local, provincial and national organizations.
Maryann’s career includes an impressive record of achievement in not-for-profit management, strategic planning and fund development. Organizations with whom Maryann has worked include Appleby College, Branksome Hall, the Ontario Lung Association, the Kidney Foundation, Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto, and Ketchum Canada. As an independent consultant, Maryann worked with an array of clients in the arts, environmental and education sector. Maryann is a member of the Board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Golden Horseshoe Chapter and Chair of the 2012 AFP GH National Philanthropy Day Awards luncheon.
Maryann will assume her new role beginning on February 13, 2012 and will lead a team of advancement professionals in all aspects of fundraising, Alumni relations, College communications and the HSC archives. She will also serve as the Campaign Director for the College’s hugely successful $42 million ‘Transformation HSC’ campaign, to build a new Senior School and College-wide Community & Athletic facility, ably lead by Adrienne Davidson, the College’s first Director of Advancement for the last number of years.
The success of the ‘Transformation HSC’ campaign to date has drawn positive attention for the College from many in the world of independent schools in Canada, and has allowed for the construction currently underway to build the new Michael G. DeGroote Senior School, opening in fall 2012. Working closely with the Head of College, the Board of Governors, the Board of Trustees and the Campaign Cabinet, Ms. Kerr will provide leadership to the final phase of fundraising to complete the ‘Transformation HSC’ campaign, anticipated to reach a successful conclusion in the coming months.
The level of engagement and support by Parents and Alumni, Staff and Faculty is unprecedented in the history of the College, which speaks to the degree of confidence and excitement in the mission and vision of HSC.
The College is delighted to welcome Maryann and her family who are thrilled at the prospect of being a part of its community.
