Lara St. John
Friday October 29, 2010
From major concert halls in New York, Prague, Berlin, and Montreal, Crescendo Concerts is thrilled to present Canadian-born violinist Lara St. John.
St. John began playing violin when she was two years old and made her first appearance as soloist with orchestra at age four.
Her performances have been described as “intimate, focused, and silky” as she “dominates the stage both physically and virtuosically”.
Hailed as a “high powered soloist” by The New York Times, Lara St. John graces the Artsplex stage with her musical imagination and genuine passion for an evening to remember.

Amanda Martinez
Friday February 4, 2011
Canadian Latin Chanteuse, Amanda Martinez “continues to intoxicate with her lush vocals” combined with the sexy rhythms of the samba, bossa nova and flamenco traditions.
From her years as host of Café Latino on Jazz Fm 91, Martinez has combined her artistry as a composer and performer appearing at international jazz festivals and on tour with award winning guitarist Jesse Cooke.
In Fall 2009, she launched her new album, entitled ‘Amor’ in partnership with Massey Hall at Canada’s new Koerner Hall, and in November, 2009, she made her debut at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York.
Be there when this three-time Juno nominee turns up the heat with her sizzling Latin vocals and vibes.

Valerie Tryon
Friday, April 8, 2011
Our very own Valerie Tryon makes a long-anticipated return to the Artsplex stage.
An event not to be missed, Valerie Tryon is a critically acclaimed pianist who has a “glittering tone” and a “reserve of passion and power” in her playing.
Ms. Tryon’s career as a pianist began before the age of twelve in England. She has an extensive repertoire and is known as an amazing interpreter of Romantic music. Valerie has played in major concert halls around the world and still finds time for a busy recording schedule.
Welcome back to Crescendo Concerts, Valerie.
