HSC is proud to announce that the 2010-2011 Alumni Award of Distinction recipient is Mr. Bob Young, Class of 1972.
Bob Young is a highly successful entrepreneur, well known for co-founding Red Hat, the open source software company which provides hardware and software vendors a standard platform on which to certify their technology. In 2003 Bob purchased the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, much to the excitement of Hamilton Fans; his dedication to supporting our local CFL team is unquestionable, and his family roots to Hamilton go back many decades. Currently, Bob is the founder and CEO of Lulu.com, a premiere international marketplace for new digital content on the Internet.  Bob’s trademark baseball cap routinely advertises his various allegiances to these organizations.

The Award selection process comprises a formal selection committee of alumni, staff and community leaders who are given the difficult task of selecting the recipient from many excellent nominees. The committee’s unanimous selection of Mr. Young for the 2010-2011 Academic year is in recognition of his outstanding successes in business and leadership, as well as his multi-faceted philanthropic endeavours locally, nationally and internationally.
