HILLFIELD STRATHALLAN COLLEGE BOARD OF GOVERNORS VOTES TO
BEGIN CONSTRUCTION ON THE TRANSFORMATION HSC PROJECT
The project will commence this Spring with the construction of the Michael G. DeGroote Senior School and Student Learning Commons.
Hamilton, ON – At a meeting last night the HSC Board of Governors unanimously voted to begin construction on the Transformation HSC project at Hillfield Strathallan College, commencing with the construction of the Michael G. DeGroote Senior School and Student Learning Commons. ‘Transformation HSC’ is a project designed to be a catalyst for change in how we redefine educational excellence for the 21st century, advancing the very subject of learning itself.
Chair, Mr. Paul Philp, voiced the congratulations of the entire Board to the HSC community for their incredible support. Following a three-year fundraising campaign, the College has realized more than $24 million in donations and pledges towards this project. In June 2009 the campaign was boosted by an unprecedented gift in the world of independent schools in this country, when Mr. Michael G. DeGroote and his family committed $10.5 million to HSC. Since then their gifts have grown to $13.5 million, and have been supplemented by more than $10 million in additional donations from other supporters in our community.
Construction will commence by April 2011. Please contact Adrienne Davidson at 905-389-1367, ext. 162 or visit our website at www.hsc.on.ca for more details.
