HSC Spirit Day

Hillfield Strathallan College participated in a College-wide Community Spirit on Friday, February 25, 2011. Members of the community proudly wore their purple, green and white. The day began with a pep rally in the Page Gym, where students were able to get in the spirit with face paint and tattoos. Students travelled to Chedoke Arena to watch the Senior Boys’ Hockey Team defeat the faculty and staff in a one-sided contest, 10 - 3. Meanwhile, the gym was packed with Middle and Senior School students to watch the U14 Girls’ Volleyball team challenge faculty team. After a rough start resulting in a loss of the first game, the girls then took the games seriously and defeated the faculty team in the final two games. The Kindergarten and Grade 1 classes celebrated Community Spirit Day by visiting the Mountsberg Outdoor Conservation Area to learn how maple syrup is made. The trip included an exciting puppet show followed by a horse and wagon ride, tapping a tree and a syrup tasting! Click here to view photos from the trip.

Overall the day was a huge success!
