National MusicFest Finals

The National MusicFest Finals is the largest music festival in North America with over 10,000 participants. This year 40 HSC Senior musicians participated for the first time at the national finals.

The HSC Senior Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Allan Gaumond performed an eclectic program with confidence and musicality. Adjudicators praised the HSC ensemble’s sense of colour, and the quality of their repertoire. The group was awarded a Silver Award for their performance.

The HSC Senior Wind Symphony, directed by Dr. Gregory Burton was one of only six bands at the National Finals to perform at the tough B500 level. Adjudicators praised their strong performance as musical and emotional. They played “from the heart”, and received a Silver Award for their efforts.
