Another milestone in the Transformation HSC project reached today! Click here for photographs.

On Friday, November 20, 2009 another historic milestone was reached in the Transformation HSC project as a sign announcing the Future Site of the Michael G. DeGroote Senior School and College-wide Athletic Complex was unveiled.  Regular chapel in the gym was replaced by an outside gathering of hundreds of students, parents, alumni,  faculty and staff - all of whom were happy the rain held off!  Dr. Tom Matthews spoke of the exciting next steps in the realization of a project that will create more than 130,000 sq. ft. of additional program space on Campus - almost as much as we have now in our existing buildings! He also remarked that the unveiling ceremony kicked off the Family Campaign – the next phase of the fundraising campaign to complete the project.

Current parents and alumni, Agnes Kuskowski '82 and Jeff Paikin '80 are the Co-Chairs of the Family Campaign, and were on hand to participate in the unveiling.  Mr. Paikin led the assembled students and guests in a countdown, and Dr. Kuskowski, Dr. Matthews and a number of HSC students helped to remove the tarpaulin covering the 8' x 8' sign beside the Killip Gate on our fields.  Intrepid photographer and Senior Master, Mr. Tony Hughes, was on the roof of the Artsplex to capture the moment!

Additional signage will be erected next week on Fennell Avenue near our main gates to signal to all who pass, the exciting development of our Campus for future generations of HSC students and families.
