HSC Colours Day for a Cause – Turkey Trot and House Cross Country

As the days shorten and the autumn air grows crisp, excitement is building across the College in anticipation of our annual Turkey Trot and Cross Country runs. On October 6, Junior and Montessori School students will chase Tommy the Turkey across campus, while our Middle and Senior School students travel to Dundas Valley Conservation Area for their joint Cross Country run.

In addition to building school spirit, our College-wide Colours day is an opportunity to demonstrate care for the greater community. This year, students in all four schools are collecting pledges to help send students from Adelaide Hoodless School in Hamilton to one of the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation camps. This year, the Foundation provided enriching camp experiences for 19,000 children and youth.

A Tim Horton Children’s Foundation camp experience is designed to change the way young people from low income families think about themselves and their futures. Individuals who attend a Foundation camp learn about the importance of teamwork, discover leadership potential and develop an increased sense of independence. When youth return home, they bring with them a more positive attitude about their future and the confidence to achieve their goals.

All HSC students are collecting pledges and share a collective fundraising goal of $10,000. For more information, please contact the following individuals as appropriate:
