One School, One Book – Thursday, January 26
During the month of February, our school is embarking on a special project, an all school book club called One School, One Book. This is our 7th annual celebration of family literacy.
As part of the program, every family will receive a copy of one of two books and we ask that you read it at home following the schedule that will be provided. Our youngest students will be receiving a picture book, while our older students will receive our novel.
Reading aloud at home is a valuable teaching tool. It better prepares your child to be an effective reader and promotes reading as an enjoyable family activity. With the One School, One Book program, we aim to continue to build a community of readers at HSC. Everyone including students, parents, teachers and administrative staff are invited to participate in this initiative.

Your child will receive his/her copy at our evening launch on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. All children and parents are invited to wear their pajamas to this event. The evening festivities will include craft stations, prizes and entertainment. We are pleased to welcome Bumbling Bert, who will amaze us with his magic. You will not want to miss this outstanding performance.
Please complete and return the RSVP below by Monday, January 24, 2017 to indicate whether you are able to attend the launch as a family. If you are unable to join us, your family’s book and information package will be sent home on Friday, January 27, 2017.
