As you may be aware, we rely heavily on word-of-mouth advertising. For this reason, it would be greatly appreciated if you could continue to encourage family, friends, neighbours and colleagues to enquire about an HSC education for their children.
Re-enrolment Information
Please be reminded that re-enrolment forms were mailed on Friday, January 14. To secure your child’s place in the new school year, please return the signed forms along with the re-enrolment tuition deposit by Friday, February 4.

Science fairs provide a unique learning opportunity for students, teachers, and members of the community to explore science and to increase public awareness of science and the world in which we live. Though science fairs are generally competitive, they also provide the opportunity for students to display their creative scientific activity beyond the classroom.

End Child Poverty Day

On Thursday, January 20, HSC participated in a College-wide fundraiser in support of the United Way with directed giving to Welcome Inn. The students participated in nutrition themed activities to underscore the fact that there are youngsters in our local community that may not have access to proper nutrition. Over $6,600 was raised to help support the nutritional needs of those served by Welcome Inn. Click here for the complete story.

Grade 4 Students Using iPod Touch to Expand Classroom Learning
Grade 4 students at HSC are participating in a very exciting pilot project utilizing iPod Touch technology in the classroom. Thanks to a very generous donation from an HSC family and a pair of innovative Junior School teachers, each student has been assigned an iPod to use as an educational tool in their learning. The iPod lab includes a Bretford PowerSync cart to store, charge and sync the devices, along with a MacBook Pro to manage the classroom's iTunes account and organize which aps are available to students.
Students are utilizing a number of applications available on this innovative technology to enrich their learning experiences. These devices have full internet capability, allowing students to research topics using Nettrekker, and other search engines, instantaneously. The possibilities are endless and the students in Grade 4 cannot wait to discover what else is in store! Click here for the complete story.

It’s Flu Season
It’s flu season. Influenza (flu) can be compromised of a sudden onset of symptoms including fever, chills, aches/pains, cough, fatigue, loss of appetite, congestion and throat irritation. To stop the spread of the virus, we encourage you to take some precautionary measures, including receiving a seasonal flu vaccine, frequent and thorough hand-washing, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home when ill.
