Welcome to Hillfield Strathallan College Parents’ Association webpage. The Parents’ Association is an active group of volunteers who work on your behalf to achieve our mission. Our mission is to provide support to enhance the learning environment and community of HSC. Every parent of a student currently enrolled at HSC is a member of the HSC Parents’ Association. The Parents’ Association Representative Committee (PARC) includes the parents who have been nominated and elected at the P.A. Annual General Meeting each year.

The Parents’ Association plays a vital role in our HSC community by organizing both ‘friendraising’ and ‘fundraising’ events. You are welcome to volunteer, attend monthly meetings and contribute to the P.A. activities in countless ways. Community events such as Winterfest and Fair Day are two fun festivals where children, parents and grandparents come together to participate in the many activities that are offered. Everyone enjoys the food, games and shopping.

Over the course of the school year, the P.A. also organizes fundraising initiatives to serve our community.  The Student-to-Student Uniform Sale is held several times a year, with two more planned in January and  April 2010, just in time to meet growth spurts, replace lost items and switch to summer uniforms.  To label clothes and anything else that tends to get lost, we have partnered with Mabel’s Labels; visit them at www.hsc.mabel.ca. The Innisbrook Gift Catalogue fundraiser is a new program used in several CAIS schools across Southern Ontario. This service provides the parents with an excellent opportunity to purchase Christmas and Corporate gifts along with Christmas gift wrapping and other exciting products. Our most popular fundraising initiative is the Tuition Raffle. Every year one lucky ticket-holder wins $9,000 toward HSC tuition, or $6,000 in cash. The winner is announced at Fair Day in May.

For the second year, the P.A. will embark on its annual On-line Auction - HSC-Bay. Parents are encouraged to donate items and services.  Please consider approaching establishments you patronize to solicit donations for HSC-Bay. In our inaugural year of this event in February 2009, we raised over $26,000.  The P.A. will be launching the 2010 HSC-Bay shortly, and is looking forward to your support and active participation.

Last, but definitely not least, are the HSC Parents’ Association adult-only events: our annual February Event is an evening extravaganza for parents, alumni and friends, and the June Fashion Show and Luncheon is a great celebration to end the school year.  Watch the website for breaking news on all of these wonderful events!

The funds we raise through Parents’ Association events are given back to the College to enhance our children’s learning environment. At our 2009 Annual General Meeting we presented the Headmaster with a cheque for the outstanding amount of $94,493!

We ask you to continue your invaluable support.  Give an hour, give a day or donate an item. Any and all contributions are greatly valued. If you volunteered at an event, donated funds as a friend of the P.A., donated goods/services, purchased tickets for friends and family or attended an event, we are very grateful. We would be remiss if we did not acknowledge the support and help which we receive from the Headmaster, staff and faculty. We all work together to create a unique school that has a wonderful history, bright present and will continue, with your support, to have a prosperous future.
