“Due to the generous support of HSC families, through the activities of the Parents' Association and the Annual Campaign, HSC has been able to more than double its spending in support of educational technology in the past six years. We now have 10 COWS (computers on wheels) and close to 50 SMART boards in operation, thereby providing both students and teachers with ready access to educational technology. I don't know of another school in the country that has made such rapid and significant progress in integrating educational technology into its classrooms, without resorting to an additional technology levy or fee. We should feel very proud of what we have accomplished” said Dr. Tom Matthews in his thank you address to the PA.
Specifically, the funds raised in the 2008-2009 school year supported the following projects
- 6 SMART boards
- 2 Computers on Wheels (COWS)
- Streaming Video Subscription
- E-learning Professional Development
- Endowment Fund (10% of total)
The PA Funding Committee meets annually with the Headmaster to discuss the various needs throughout the school. The Funding Committee then chooses which areas will be supported by the funds raised through PA activities.
The PA would like to thank all the families who have supported our events throughout the school, raising both funds and school spirit in the process!
