Athlete of the Week - October 24
Congratulations to Cross Country Runners Jace Ellis, Ben Parker, Dinesh Moro, Georgia Cross-Bermingham and the Junior Girls' Team for being selected as our Athletes of the Week!
The entire Senior Cross Country team had an outstanding day at the CISAA Championships last Wednesday, finishing in a FIRST OVERALL tie with powerhouse De La Salle College!
Among the many fantastic races, Jace Ellis and Ben Parker battled through intense competition to qualify as Junior Boys for OFSAA, which is to be held this Saturday in Port Hope.
Dinesh Moro lived up to his status by leading the Senior Boys' team with a remarkable time of 21:44 for an exhausting 6km! His final race as an HSC Cross Country runner will be on Saturday, at OFSAA.
Georgia Cross-Bermingham shone against the competition while fighting up a grueling 75m hill not once, but twice, to finish as our fastest Senior Girl. She will be representing HSC at OFSAA.
Last but certainly not least, our star Junior Girls' Team placed first in their division, earning Gold Medals and a CISAA Plaque! With such a remarkable performance, all six girls automatically qualified for OFSAA. The talented team consists of Madeline Wighardt, Mackenzie Oliver, Maya Oster, Alyssa Spaan, Camille Bruckmann and Erin Demopolis.
A special congratulations to Team Captains Tom Campbell, Mayah Moosajee, Dinesh Moro and Steph Gerend. Their constant enthusiasm, dedication and positive encouragement were an inspiration to the entire team.
