Areas to Support:
Investing in HSC’s Future
At Hillfield Strathallan College, every gift plays a vital role in upholding our standard of excellence and shaping the future for our students. We offer distinct opportunities that allow you to support the areas most meaningful to you, whether it’s ensuring long-term financial stability, meeting immediate needs, or investing in transformative campus projects.
Explore the key areas where your support makes a profound impact:
HSC Endowment
Gifts to the Endowment are a legacy, making an impact that lasts forever.
The HSC Endowment is the College’s permanent financial foundation, designed to provide a perpetual source of funding for generations to come. Donations to the Endowment are invested, and a portion of the investment income is used annually to support critical areas of the College, while the principal remains untouched, growing over time.
What the Endowment funds:
- Scholarships and Bursaries: A robust endowment is crucial for attracting and retaining outstanding students from diverse backgrounds, regardless of their financial circumstances. It ensures an HSC education remains accessible, enriching our entire community with a wider range of talents, experiences, and viewpoints.
- Faculty Professional Development: Supporting our exceptional faculty with ongoing training, advanced degrees, and innovative teaching resources ensures they remain at the forefront of education, directly enhancing the learning experience for every student.
- Programmatic Innovation: The Endowment can provide sustained funding for new academic programs, cutting-edge technology, and unique experiential learning opportunities, allowing HSC to remain dynamic and responsive to evolving educational needs.
- Long-Term Campus Sustainability: Contributions to the Endowment help ensure the long-term maintenance and preservation of our magnificent 50-acre campus and its facilities.
The Annual Fund
Gifts to the Annual Fund provide immediate and flexible resources that directly impact the current academic year.
The Annual Fund is the lifeblood of HSC’s day-to-day operations, directly impacting every student, every program, and every corner of our campus each year. Unlike the Endowment, gifts to the Annual Fund are spent within the current academic year, addressing our most immediate priorities and enhancing the overall student experience.
What the Annual Fund supports:
- Enriched Academic Programs: From specialized equipment for science labs to resources for our arts programs and innovative technology in classrooms, the Annual Fund ensures our academic offerings are cutting-edge and inspiring.
- Dynamic Co-curriculars and Athletics: It supports the vast array of clubs, activities, and over 75 athletic teams, providing students with opportunities to discover passions, develop leadership, and build strong connections outside of academics.
- Campus Maintenance and Upgrades: While major projects are covered by capital campaigns, the Annual Fund helps maintain the excellence of our facilities on a daily basis, ensuring a safe, inspiring, and well-resourced learning environment.
- Financial Aid for Current Families: It provides critical flexibility to support current HSC families who may experience unforeseen financial challenges, ensuring students can continue their education without disruption.
Capital Campaign
Gifts to a Capital Campaign build the future, transforming our campus and expanding our capacity for excellence.
A Capital Campaign is a focused, time-limited fundraising effort undertaken by HSC to achieve specific, transformative goals, typically related to significant campus infrastructure or large-scale strategic initiatives. These campaigns fund projects that are beyond the scope of the Annual Fund or Endowment, leaving a lasting physical and programmatic legacy.
What a Capital Campaign funds:
- New Buildings and Facilities: This could include the construction of new academic buildings, performing arts centers, athletic complexes, or student common areas that enhance the learning and community experience.
- Major Renovations and Expansions: Updating existing facilities, expanding classrooms, or modernizing specialized spaces like science labs, art studios, or libraries to meet contemporary educational needs.
- Strategic Program Investments: Launching significant new programs that require substantial initial investment, such as a specialized innovation hub or a cutting-edge research center.
- Large-Scale Technology Infrastructure: Investing in school-wide technological advancements that impact teaching, learning, and operational efficiency across all divisions.
We invite you to explore these areas and consider how your support can best align with your philanthropic goals, helping HSC continue its tradition of nurturing excellence and fostering the leaders of tomorrow.
