Membership criteria for HSC Corporation is outlined below, and provides guidance for both the Board of Governors and staff in identifying individuals eligible for membership and voting rights.
The overall criteria for membership of the Corporation are an individual who has made a significant contribution to the College and acts as an ambassador for the College;
Initial membership and continuing membership must be approved by the Executive Committee;
Subject to final review by the executive, any member who has not attended the Annual Meeting or has not responded to a proxy notice within the last three years is automatically terminated;
When a gift is received from a family, both spouses/partners will be granted membership – one voting and one non-voting;
Membership in the HSC Corporation is structured in the following categories: Ordinary (voting), Life (voting) and Honorary (non-voting).
ORDINARY MEMBERS WOULD BE AS FOLLOWS:
Members of the Board of Governors paralleling their term on the Board
Members of the Board of Trustees paralleling their term as a Trustee
Anyone who makes a financial contribution to the College of $10,000 or more for a period of 10 years commencing immediately after the making of said contributions
LIFE MEMBERS WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:
Anyone who makes a significant contribution in the amount of $100,000 or more
All past Chairs of the Board of Governors
All past Chairs of the Board of Trustees
All individuals who have been a member of the Executive Committee for three one-year terms or more
Any member of the Board of Governors who has served six or more years
All Builders and Patrons of the College
HONORARY MEMBERS AS DESIGNATED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, WOULD INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Former staff, including those who were previously voting members, as recommended by the Head of College
Retiring staff as recommended by the Head of College
Any individual who was previously a voting member as recommended by the Executive Committee
The immediate Past Presidents’ of the Parents’ Guild and the Alumni Association
